Spotted Nightjar (4/6)

CAPRIMULGIFORMES: Eurostopodidae

Eurostopodus argus  

Walking through mallee, 7 kilometres south of Hattah, I flushed this Spotted Nightjar and then jogged after it as it zig-zagged between the trees, never expecting to see it again.

Amazingly when I pulled up having lost sight of it, I saw a flicker of movement in the scrub and there it was and I was able to get this photo.

Unfortunately, I was also spotted and the bird was off again and though I tried, I couldn't repeat my luck.
